Race start times vary but usually, guests can count on a 2:00 pm start time during First Post in the summer. On Fridays, this is generally pushed back until 4:00 pm. If you’re watching a race in the fall, First Post is often scheduled for around 12:30 pm.
What is the parking situation like on-site?
Guests will find the parking situation at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club to be relatively convenient. There is complimentary parking offered for charter buses that have a bus parking pass in place. There is parking for individual vehicles on-site as well with fees charged per vehicle at the time of entry. Re-entry isn’t allowed once you leave the grounds.
